Music education and participating in performing ensembles have enriched my life and provided me with experiences beyond my imagination.
In six grade, 1991, I started performing with "The Sound Machine", an Inland Empire community marching band. With this group I marched in 100's of parades. The most memorable were The Hollywood Christmas Parade in 1992 and the Torch Light Parade, from 1992-1996, in downtown Seattle Washington. This parade was especially enjoyable because it happened at night. I participated with this group throughout high school.
I was fortunate to go to Etiwanda High School. The music program is nationally ranked. I participated in Fiesta Bowl Parades and The Tournament of Roses Parade in 1995. Additionally, I competed in The Bands of American Grand National Championships at Lucas oil Stadium in Indianapolis Indiana, in 1992 and 1995 as a featured soloist for the marching band. The Etiwanda Marching Eagle Regiment was the first California high school marching band to compete in this prestigious event. We made finals both times and took High Auxiliary (Color guard) in 1992. All performing ensembles were ranked as the best in California. In 1995, I performed at the B.O.A. National Concert band Festival, in Chicago Illinois. We placed fourth in the nation at this festival.
